All Kanzo Kitchen orders are shipped from our fulfilment partners within the United Kingdom.

Most UK orders arrive within 2–4 working days after dispatch.

Once your order has shipped, you will receive a tracking link by email so you can follow your delivery.

A £30 kitchen knife lasts 12–18 months of daily use before it chips, rusts, or refuses to hold an edge. Then you buy another one. A Kanzo knife stays sharp through seasons of cooking, not weeks. You don't replace it yearly, you keep it.

Every Kanzo knife begins as raw Damascus billet, folded and forge-welded by hand. That process creates a blade hardened to 60–62 HRC - significantly harder than most kitchen knives. The 15° hand-finished edge means the tomato splits instead of sliding.

Do the arithmetic. Buy five cheap knives over 15 years at £30 each, or buy one Kanzo knife once. The choice is about more than money, it's about not reaching for a dull blade when you're cooking.

All Kanzo knives are covered by our 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.

This warranty covers faults in materials or craftsmanship under normal use.

The warranty does not cover:

• Normal wear and tear
• Damage caused by misuse or improper care
• Chips or damage from cutting bones, frozen food or hard materials

Every Kanzo knife comes with one free sharpening a year for your first two years. Send it to us, we sharpen it by hand on the original angle and send it back. You cover the postage in, we cover the rest.

In between, a few seconds on a honing rod keeps the edge true. Wash by hand, dry it, put it away.

If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return it within 100 days of delivery, provided the item is in resalable condition and in its original packaging. Returns are free; we cover the return postage.

Please email us at support@kanzokitchen.co.uk before sending a return so we can assist with the process.

Kanzo or a supermarket knife

Kanzo A typical supermarket knife
The edge after a month Still splits a tomato skin without pressing. Sharp out of the packet. Dull by the end of the month.
When it slows down Ten minutes on a whetstone. Back to how it arrived. Sharpening a soft blade buys a week. Then it's a new knife.
Twenty minutes into prep Balanced at the bolster. Your hand isn't thinking about it. Weight in the wrong place. You grip harder to compensate.
What it's made of 67 layers of Damascus steel around a hardened high-carbon core. Rosewood handle. Usually stamped from a single sheet, with a moulded handle.

What you pay £103.20, once. £20, again and again.

Most knives lose their edge within months. Kanzo knives won't.

Japanese-inspired craftsmanship, built to last a lifetime. Genuine Damascus steel paired with a stunning rosewood handle - the perfect fusion of form and function, and a truly special gift for any cooking enthusiast.

FOLDED AND FORGED.

Damascus steel is made by folding and forge-welding layers of steel together. It's slow, and it's why the blade is strong, takes a fine edge, and keeps it.

The wave pattern isn't decoration; it's what the folding leaves behind, and it means no two blades ever match.

High Craftsmanship Quality

This knife has real craftsmanship and presence. It feels ideal in the hand and is a pleasure to work with. The Damascus pattern actually shows up less dramatically in person than in the photos, likely due to the harder heat treatment, which also makes the steel less rust prone.

P
Poppy Sinclair

Extremely sharp and packaged really securely for storage.

FAQs

Because you're buying it once. A supermarket knife is cheap on the day and expensive over ten years of replacing it. This one has a hardened core that holds its edge, and when it eventually needs sharpening, a few minutes on a stone brings it back.

You sharpen it instead of replacing it, and the price makes sense from there.

Damascus steel is known for its layered construction and distinctive wave-like pattern on the blade.

Our knives use 67-layer Damascus steel, combining strength, edge retention and corrosion resistance. This structure helps the blade stay sharp longer while maintaining durability for everyday kitchen use.

Yes. Our knives are designed to deliver the balance, sharpness and durability expected from high-quality kitchen tools used by both serious home cooks and professional chefs.

No. The Damascus pattern is created through layering different steels during forging, meaning the pattern is part of the blade itself rather than a surface coating.

For regular home cooking, most knives benefit from sharpening every 3–6 months.

You can maintain the edge between sharpenings using our whetstone.

Send them to us. Every Kanzo order comes with one free sharpening a year for the first two years, done by hand on the angle they were finished at.

Send as many of your Kanzo knives as you like in the same parcel. You post them in, we sharpen them and post them back at no charge. Full details on the free sharpening page.

We do not recommend placing your knife in the dishwasher. The heat, moisture, and harsh detergents can damage the wooden handle and may scratch or dull the blade.

Proper storage protects both the blade and your safety.

Recommended storage methods:

  • Knife block
  • Magnetic knife strip
  • Blade guard
  • Drawer knife organiser

Avoid placing knives loosely in a drawer, as this can dull the blade and increase the risk of injury.

To care for your rosewood knife handle, clean it with a damp cloth and avoid soaking it in water. Always dry the handle thoroughly. Apply food-safe mineral or linseed oil every few months to keep the wood hydrated. Store the knife in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Lastly, avoid drops or impacts to prevent damage to the handle.

The knife handle is designed for comfort and an ergonomic grip, making it well-suited for larger hands. Its size and shape provide excellent control, ensuring a secure and comfortable feel during use.

Yes. All Kanzo knives are covered by our 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
