A £30 kitchen knife lasts 12–18 months of daily use before it chips, rusts, or refuses to hold an edge. Then you buy another one. A Kanzo knife stays sharp through seasons of cooking, not weeks. You don't replace it yearly, you keep it.

Every Kanzo knife begins as raw Damascus billet, folded and forge-welded by hand. That process creates a blade hardened to 60–62 HRC - significantly harder than most kitchen knives. The 15° hand-finished edge means the tomato splits instead of sliding.

Do the arithmetic. Buy five cheap knives over 15 years at £30 each, or buy one Kanzo knife once. The choice is about more than money, it's about not reaching for a dull blade when you're cooking.

All Kanzo knives are covered by our 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.

This warranty covers faults in materials or craftsmanship under normal use.

The warranty does not cover:

• Normal wear and tear
• Damage caused by misuse or improper care
• Chips or damage from cutting bones, frozen food or hard materials

Send your knives back to us once a year for the first two years and we sharpen them by hand on the original angle, then send them home to you. As many as you like in the same parcel. You cover the postage in, we cover the rest.

In between, a few seconds on a honing rod keeps the edge true. Wash by hand, dry them, put them away.

If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return it within 100 days of delivery, provided the item is in resalable condition and in its original packaging.

Please email us at support@kanzokitchen.co.uk before sending a return so we can assist with the process.

The edge after a month Still splits a tomato skin without pressing. Sharp out of the packet. Dull by the end of the month.
When it slows down Ten minutes on a whetstone. Back to how it arrived. Sharpening a soft blade buys a week. Then it's a new knife.
Twenty minutes into prep Balanced at the bolster. Your hand isn't thinking about it. Weight in the wrong place. You grip harder to compensate.

FOLDED AND FORGED.

Damascus steel is made by folding and forge-welding layers of steel together. It's slow, and it's why the blade is strong, takes a fine edge, and keeps it.

The wave pattern isn't decoration; it's what the folding leaves behind, and it means no two blades ever match.

FAQs

Because you're buying it once. A supermarket knife is cheap on the day and expensive over ten years of replacing it. This one has a hardened core that holds its edge, and when it eventually needs sharpening, a few minutes on a stone brings it back.

You sharpen it instead of replacing it, and the price makes sense from there.

The Three includes the Universal Chef Knife, Santoku Knife, and Utility Knife. The Five adds the Bread Knife and Paring Knife.

Both sets include the magnetic knife holder in walnut, free.

Yes. The set price covers the knives. The holder, which sells separately at £49, is included at no charge with every set.

Each knife arrives in its own premium gift box, so the set is ready to give as it arrives.

The holder fixes to the wall with a strong adhesive backing. No drilling, no screws. Fix it to a clean, dry, flat surface, press firmly, and leave it to bond fully before mounting your knives. Full instructions are included in the box.

No. The pattern is created through layering different steels during forging, meaning it is part of the blade itself rather than a surface coating.

We do not recommend it. Heat, moisture, and harsh detergents can damage the wooden handles and dull the blades. Hand wash and dry after use.

Send them to us. Every knife in the set comes with one free sharpening a year for the first two years, done by hand on the angle it was finished at.

You post them in, we sharpen them and post them back at no charge. Full details on the free sharpening page.

For regular home cooking, most knives benefit from sharpening every 3–6 months.

You can maintain the edge between sharpenings using our whetstone.

Yes, every knife in the set is available on its own. The set is the better value and includes the holder.

All Kanzo knives are covered by our 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects, and every order has 100-day returns.
